Kirstine and Jørgen Hundahl take over the smithy in Tilsted on March 1, 1956.

New workshop

Thanks to good growth, the business expands with a new workshop.

The area is expanding

Land was purchased, increasing the total area to a whopping 6,000 sqm.

Machine dealer Indkøbsringen

Shortly after expanding with more land, we became a member of Maskinhandler Indkøbsringen.

New and larger workshop

The growth adventure continues! We therefore build a new and even larger workshop in 1980.

The sons step up

In 1984, Kirstine and Jørgen’s sons, Søren and Erik, join the company.

New store

In 1991 we were 14 strong and a dealer for Nuffield/Leyland, Fiat, Hesston and Laverda. That’s why we are building a new store.

From Tilsted to Silstrup

We increase the number of employees and at this point also deal with New Holland. We therefore move 2 km south to Silstrup, where we are also located today. Here we are establishing a brand new 20,000 sqm site and a 3,400 sqm building.

The following year, we buy the neighboring property with the prospect of even more expansion.

A new and stronger J. Hundahl

In ’02-’03, we are upgrading skills and assigning responsibilities to different employees as part of a huge development project. At this point, we are 40 employees.

… Oh, yeah – and of course we are also building a new 1,100 sqm hall.

Acquisition of NB Hundahl A/S, NORS

We acquire the local machine shop in Nors and grow to more than 50 employees.

50th anniversary!

We are celebrating J. Hundahl’s first 50 years (and approx. 54 employees)!

Lawnmower workshop

We have 60 happy employees and are expanding with a 200 sqm lawnmower workshop.

Gazelle company

Thanks to loyal customers and skilled and committed employees, we can boast of being named a Gazelle company for the first time in 2008.

Merger with C.P. Kolding Eftf. in Skive

We acquire all assets, activities and rights in the business A/S C.P. Kolding Eftf. in Skive, Denmark, and continue the business with the same name and staff.

The board of directors of Maskinhandler Indkøbsringen

Søren Hundahl joins MI’s board of directors, and we also become a dealer for both Väderstad and Simba.

The board of directors of the Danish Machinery Dealers Association

Erik Hundahl joins DM’s board of directors. We also break ground on a new 1,700 sqm machine hall, which will be completed the following year.

In 2014, Skjern Maskinforretning (formerly Tobico) also becomes part of J. Hundahl.

Resale of plumbing

We are closing the HVAC department to develop, highlight and strengthen our competencies for agricultural machinery. Søren & Erik Hundahl become part of the board of the new Thy VVS, which is led by Martin Kirstein after many years at J. Hundahl. Hundahl.

Expanding ownership and business

After more than 60 years as a purely family-owned business, Claus Sørensen and Martin Dalgaard join the co-ownership team. This coincides with the completion of the brand new branch in Skive.

Skjern Maskinforretning also acquires Sakskær Maskinforretning.

The tractor farm comes with

Traktorgården Give becomes part of J. Hundahl in 2019. Hundahl.

Covid-19

Unfortunately, the pandemic put a spanner in the works for this year’s Open House, an annual tradition for 40 years. Luckily, we are not to be knocked out and are already looking forward to next year’s Open House!

A good start to the year

After a year’s break, we’re hosting another Open House. The event is a huge success with over 3,500 visitors.

In addition, Erik and Søren receive the prestigious award as ‘Thyboer of the Year’. The award is given to someone who has distinguished themselves and contributed to the local community in Thy during the year.
